Warzoons were a species of warriors, originating from an unknown planet.
History[]
Having heard the call for him, a Warzoon named Mongul traveled to the distant artificial planet Warworld and killed its native species, the Largas. He sought to use the power of this weapon, capable of destroying whole planets, for himself, though he was unable to do so without the key the Largas had hidden with the Martians, both White and Green. He traveled through the Multiverse and found thousands of White Martians, but not a single Green one. While on his journey, he connected his consciousness with that of the planet and frequently supplied it with the hate and terror of individuals taken from their homeworlds, such as Skartaris and Earth, who were held in statis and cloned over and over again to power the planet killing weapon. One day, the bounty hunter Lobo brought Mongul the last Green Martian, J'onn J'onzz, and, though they were unable to get the key from him, they imprisoned him and used his telepathic powers to hold the prisoners in unending cycles of violence. However, J'onzz was able to direct three members of the Justice League to Warworld, who proceeded to rebel against the tyranny of Mongul and freed J'onn. After fusing with a white Martian, he activated Warworld, with the key that was hidden in both their DNAs, and caused its self destruction, killing everyone on it, including himself and Mongul, except for his allies, who were teleported away by a cosmic being called the Harbinger.

Trivia[]
- Warzoons were created by Len Wein and Jim Starlin and first appeared in DC comics in DC Comics Presents #27 in November 1980.
- Originally in the comics, the Warzoons were the ones responsible for Warworld's creation, with Mongul being from an undefined species. This was retconned shortly afterwards, and Mongul, along with all of his offsprings, became Warzoons.
