Warworld was a weapon capable of killing entire planets, controlled by the evil dictator Mongul.

History[]

Created by an unknown individual or group, presumably from Earth-1, the planet killer Warworld somehow got into the control of the species of the Largas. The largas though, did not intend on using it, and rather wanted to make sure that no one else would ever gain control over it. They hid the Key of Warworld among the two races of Mars, inside of the DNA of the White and Green Martians. These two species were trapped in an endless civil war and therefore, unlikely to ever work together to use Warworld. Sometime later, the Warzoon Mongul traveled to Warworld, claiming that "she" had called for him. He slaughtered every Largas on the planet and aimed to use its weapons of destruction, but was unable to do so without the key. He traveled the Multiverse in order to find the right Martians, but only ever found White ones, among those the Last White Martian of Earth-1. Mongul also connected his mind to the planet and continuously fed it with the violence and hatred of people whom he had abducted from their homes, such as Skartaris and other places on Earth. Sometime after first meeting the Czarnian bounty hunter Lobo, Mongul was brought J'onn J'onzz, the last Green Martian of his universe by him. Though he would not give him the key, J'onzz would be used in other ways. His strong telepathic powers were used in order to torture the prisoners in endless cycles of combat and death, powering Warworld further. One day, when the heroes from J'onn's teams the Justice League, namely Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman arrived to save him, all of whom had been brought there through the Zeta Chamber, J'onzz was able to escape Mongul’s captivity. While the heroes fought the White Martians, and Lobo distracted Mongul, J'onn fused together with the last White Martian of his universe, and created the key with his polymorphic abilities. He set Warworld to self destruction, killing everyone onboard, including himself, Mongul, the prisoners and the White Martians. Only his allies were saved from the explosion, by a cosmic being called Harbinger, who said that she needed their help to prevent a Crisis that threatened to destroy everything, everywhere.
