Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, is a vigilante thief operating in Gotham City and a frequent ally and girlfriend of Batman.
Biography[]
Daughter of the Roman[]
Selina was born on March 14, 1994, as the illegitimate daughter of Carmine Falcone "The Roman", the head of the Gotham Mob, and Louisa. She was separated from the rest of the family, some time after she was born. Growing up, she did not know who her mother was, but she knew the identity of her father and that of her half-siblings, Sofia and Alberto Falcone. As an adult, Selina sought answers about her parentage, adopted the persona of Catwoman, and because of her interest in the Falcones, she frequently crossed paths with Bruce Wayne, the vigilante known as Batman. The two subsequently began a romantic relationship.
The Long Halloween[]
Following the murder of Falcone's nephew, Johnny Viti, on Halloween 2020 by Holiday, Batman noticed Catwoman lurking around while conversing with District Attorney Harvey Dent and GCPD Commissioner James Gordon. Batman chased her and Catwoman took him and Harvey to the warehouse where the Falcones were storing their money. She gave Batman and Harvey a match from inside her shoe before leaving, and the two burned the warehouse and the money.
Aiding the Batman[]
On Thanksgiving Day, Catwoman helped Batman fend off San Ho Hui while pursuing Mickey Chen for attempting to assassinate Harvey on Falcone's behalf. Selina then went to Wayne Manor to have Thanksgiving dinner with Bruce and Alfred Pennyworth, although Bruce was late because he brought Solomon Grundy a plate of Thanksgiving dinner to thank him for helping capture Chen.
New Year and Alberto's Death[]
Selina and Bruce later attended a New Year's Eve party aboard the Falcone yacht, where Selina stole the attendees' watches. On the deck of the yacht, Selina expressed to Bruce that she felt their relationship was not working due to his responsibilities as Batman, and the two decided to end it amicably. Selina then met up with her half-brother, Alberto Falcone, and the two had a conversation. Alberto felt a connection with Selina and tried to kiss her, but Selina backed away. Batman interrupted them to accuse Alberto of being responsible for Holiday's murders, but the real Holiday arrived and shot Alberto dead while Selina watched in horror.
Saving Bruce from Poison Ivy[]
After Alberto's murder, Bruce was placed under mind control by Poison Ivy, who was hired by Falcone to manipulate him and transfer his assets to Roman. Selina didn't act until she sensed Ivy's vulnerability. Three months later, she broke into Wayne Manor and freed Bruce from Ivy's control. Bruce resumed his activities as Batman. On Mother's Day, Catwoman found him lying in Crime Alley. Due to the effects of Scarecrow's toxin, Bruce mistook her for his mother, and Selina took him home.
Standoff at Falcone Tower[]
As the next Halloween approached, Catwoman rescued Batman after Falcone tried to kill him in his tower. Bruce thanked Selina for rescuing him on Mother's Day and asked her why she was so obsessed with Carmine. Selina confessed that Falcone is her father and that she simply wanted to know her mother's name, but wasn't sure she had the courage to ask. Bruce and Selina kissed but were interrupted by a riot instigated by the rogue escapees from Arkham Asylum, who were led by Harvey, who now used the alias Two-Face.
Two-Face and the rogues invaded Falcone Tower and prepared to execute Carmine, but Batman and Catwoman arrived and subdued them. However, they were unable to stop Two-Face from shooting Falcone in the neck. Sofia Falcone entered the room, saw Selina carrying Two-Face's gun, and attacked her, trying to kill the former prosecutor for her father's death. However, she saw that the gun no longer had any bullets and fell. Selina tried to save her half-sister, but Sofia let herself go and died. Selina then revealed her face to Carmine, who recognized her as "Louisa" before he died. After Two-Face was detained, Bruce and Selina resumed their relationship, and Selina moved into Wayne Manor. At the same time, they received a visit from a boy dressed as Batman who was trick-or-treating.
