Rudy Jones also known as Parasite was a former janitor who worked for S.T.A.R. Labs and was turned into a parasitic supervillain by the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo.
Physical Appearance[]
Rudy Jones was a tall, fit Caucasian male with brown hair. He wore a janitor uniform consisting of a light blue shirt, dark blue trousers, and black belt and black shoes.
When he became Parasite, he transforms into a vampire-like creature with pale skin, pink spots all over his body, milky white eyes, white hair, pointy ears and fangs.
When he absorbed too much electricity and Superman's energy, he became more deformed and monstrous and alien like and gigantic with spikes protruding through his skin.
Biography[]
He was first seen doing some clean up while there was a press conference for Lex Luthor for the rocket launch. Clark Kent as an intern noticed Rudy being tired for morning work shift was offered a coffee, and the latter accepted.
When Lobo arrives at S.T.A.R. Labs, there was a conflict with him, Superman, and later Martian Manhunter, Rudy was caught in a crossfire as he was fell down floor and the rumble got him trapped. When Lobo threw a bomb for Superman, the latter manage to deal with it, but Rudy still stuck on the rubble got covered with the substance from the bomb. The doctors managed to find Ruby and took him to the hospital to be treated. When Rudy woke up, he became Parasite when he absorbed energy or life force from people.
Later he fought both Superman and Martian Manhunter and defeated J'onn J'onzz by absorbing his life force. He then tried to absorb a lot, growing into a huge, mutated beast.
Superman was later able to defeat Parasite with the help of Lobo who lured him into an exploding power plant.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Energy/Power absorption: When he was drowning in purple goo, Rudy soon discovered that he possessed the ability to absorb all forms of energy, including from humans and killing them in the process. Aside from absorbing energy, he was also capable of taking the powers of any being who has had them.
- Superhuman Strength: As Rudy transformed, he developed immense levels of strength like no other. He was strong enough to rip the walls of S.T.A.R. Labs open with his bare hands. As Rudy continued to grow stronger, he was even able to surpass the likes of Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Lobo, making him one of the most powerful beings in the entire Multiverse.
- Energy Breath: Rudy had the capability to project an immense energy blast from his mouth.
- Superhuman Speed: Not only had Rudy gotten stronger, but he had also became extremely faster. While Rudy was on top of the train, he blitzed Superman, who was actually Martian Manhunter, appearing as a blur.
- Sonic Scream: Rudy could emit powerful sonic waves from his mouth as he was fighting Superman.
- Flight: After draining the powers from Superman and Martian Manhunter, Rudy demonstrated the ability to fly to the nuclear reactor to stop the explosion.
- Heat Vision: Rudy could shoot powerful heat beams from his eyes, capable of burning virtually anything in his path. He used it on Martian Manhunter, burning him to death. This power was obtained from Superman.
- Invulnerability: As Rudy evolved, he became immune to all forms of physical harm as he grew more powerful. He could withstand bullets, bombs, and missile launchers. As Lex stated that there was a limit to how many powers and weaknesses Rudy could retain. This power was derived from Superman.
- Gigantification: Rudy could augment his size at will after taking in large amounts of energy from anything and anyone.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: After taking energy from humans, Rudy had the ability to heal from virtually anything. This was seen when two S.T.A.R. Labs agents shot him in the back, and he was able to regenerate from the gunshot wounds.
- Invisibility: After burning Martian Manhunter to death, he took his powers. He demonstrated that he had become capable of turning himself invisible.
- Super Leaping: Due to Rudy’s transformation, he could leap great distances in a single bound with the strength in his legs.
