Power Ring is the evil counterpart of Green Lantern from Earth-3.
History[]
Power Ring was a member of the supervillain team “Crime Syndicate” of Earth-3, an evil counterpart to Earth-1’s Justice League. His powers were granted to him by his magical lantern ring, feeding on the emotion of fear and allowing him to create magical constructs of anything he could imagine. At some point his team has defeated their world’s counterpart of the Justice League, commonly known in the comics as “The Legion of Justice”. This allowed them to become the ultimate all-ruling dictatorship, having absolute control over the entirety of the Earth of their universe.
During the events of “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part 1”, Power Ring was summoned alongside other Syndicate members by Johnny Quick to help him defeat the Flash. During the fight, Power Ring creates a green slide construct, using which he disorients Barry Allen and hands him over to Owlman. Later, when Barry is captured and interrogated by the team regarding his origin, he confessed that he is from a parallel Earth. However, Power Ring doesn’t believe him and claims that he is lying, even after Super Woman uses her lasso of submission to make him tell the truth. Moments later, John Constantine appears in the room, stopping Barry’s interrogation. Ultraman orders Johnny Quick and Power Ring to kill the man, however the latter freezes them in place.
Later in the events of the movie, the Syndicate faces against a massive antimatter wave destroying their planet. They all agree that they are going to physically attack the wave to the best of their ability in order to stop it. Power Ring is the first Crime Syndicate member to face against it. He tries putting various constructs in front of it, hoping that they will stop it. When they do not, he continues stepping back, until he is cornered in a small room. Power Ring continues to fight, but ends up being consumed by the antimatter and dying.
