Earth 0 was the original Universe that existed prior to the Multiverse . The universe was destroyed as a result of an attempt by John Constantine and the Flash to alter history by killing Darkseid as an infant. The result of Darkseid's death caused the universe shattering into an infinite number of parallel universes known as the Multiverse.

Background[]
Before Earth 0, there was a normal universe with the normal superheroes. Flash from that universe decide to create a Flashpoint in order to save his mom. However, this Flashpoint creates a disastorous consequence as the time boom ripple across the world, radically changing the world that what Flash knew, including a war between Atlantis and Amazon which threaten to destroy the world.
Flash recreate the Flashpoint and creates Earth 0, with his memories of both of his old universes intact.
Apokolips War and Reset[]
Due to an attempt sabotage and invasion by Darkseid along with Darkseid's invasion on other planets, the Justice League decide to invade Apokolplis to end Darkseid once and for all. However, the invasion failed with many superheroes killed and brainwashed to serve Darkseid. The only survivors was Shazam, Superman (albiet weaken with Kryptonite) and John Constantine. From there, Earth is conquered by Darkseid and underwent genocide and destruction with Parademons patrolling the area.
2 years later, Superman and Lois gather all the remaining forces in order to blow up Apokolips once more, using Darkseid's invasion of Oa as a distraction. They managed to destroy Apokolplis and banish Darkseid to the unknown.
Despite the victory, it was a high cost as not only many superheroes died, Apokolips managed to steal enough magma core to damage Earth's gravitational which would likely kill several billion more. Looking at the dire situation, Constantine convinced Flash to recreate the Flashpoint in order to reset the world. Constantine give two spell to Flash, a guidence spell to guide Flash to Darkseid and one secret spell, a spell that can kill anyone near Flash. That spell guarantee that Darkseid will be killed regardless of Flash's conscience.
Darkseid's death soon lead to destruction of Earth 0 and the birth of multiple Earths.
